Ebinabo Johnson: Ankara Diary

Increasingly we are looking for ways to be fabulous while still staying true to our roots. Ankara and print fabric being a major part of the African culture, we thought it would be beautiful to find ways to incorporate it into our daily styles.

Today on the blog we have Ebinabo Johnson, MBGN Universe 2007, showing us how Ankara can we styled and rocked during the week.

Enjoy.

Ankara three-quarter trouser, paired with a plain white shirt and black jacket. This could be worn to work on a Tuesdays. Seeing as you may be going into a corporate environment you want to stay clean but still elegant and that's what this look offers. The colour of the Ankara is bold and so pairing it with plain coloured items means you can wear the combination into a meeting and feel sophisticated but still corporate.

The Ghanaian fabric used for the jacket is bold and loud. It speaks for itself. You want your looks to be sophisticated and so pairing it with a plain pencil skirt or trouser of any one of the colours in the jacket, makes it tasteful and shows your ability to edit your style. This can be worn to work perhaps on a Wednesday and what's even more beautiful?  It's fit for a hang out after work.  Don't forget to take your matching purse when you go out, to work or to play.

Sometimes the only Ankara touch you would need to seal your look is an accessory. In this case a purse. Nice Ankara print purse paired with a black dress and gold belt. Off to work or an event, out to slay.

After a long week, you want to go relax and catch up with friends . This is the time to experiment with your fabrics, mixing and matching them. Look for fabrics that contrast but still match up in some way. Ebinabo did just that and she is ready to end her week in classy style.  Be sure to check her out on instagram @Ebinabomb_EPJ10

Thank you Ebinabo for sharing. You look beautiful in all the pictures.
